- To wash your 100% cotton or linen blend woven wrap, use low heat settings (30 degrees) on your washing machine.
- Avoid the use of harsh detergents with optical brighteners, bleach or fabric softener, they can damage the fibers of your wrap.
- If your wrap is of a wool blend, hand washing is advisable due to the delicate nature of the fabrics' yarns
- It is also worth mentioning that overly frequent washing of your wrap isn't good at all for the durability of your wrap.
- You can spot clean it with a damp hand towel if there is a stain in a particular section of your wrap.
- Your brand new wraps have been specially steam treated to soften them so they will be delivered to you as ready to wear so you don’t have to wash before first use except where we stated otherwise. However, whenever you give your wrap its first wash, expect a little bit of shrinkage which is common to woven cotton textiles. We have added a little allowance to cater for any shrinkage.
- Our weavers specifically advise that tumble drying should be discouraged because it can reduce the durability of your woven wrap.
- So to dry your wrap, use gentle alternatives like putting your wrap in between a large towel, squeezing and then line dry it
- However, if you must tumble dry your wrap for the purpose of breaking it in, use the lowest heat or the air dry settings (see photo)
Ironing
- To iron your wrap, steam ironing is advisable as it further softens the natural fibers of your wrap
- Ensure that you also follow the instructions on the care label of your wrap.
